Energy Futures ModellingPlanning for a sustainable future in energy
Our research looks at understanding the options that Australia’s energy sector will be focusing on over the next 20 to 50 years, such as near zero emission technologies, energy storage, hybrid electric vehicles and distributed generation, all of which aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We create and assess scenarios using a variety of modelling approaches focusing primarily on the electricity generation and road transport sectors, major producers of greenhouse gases. CSIRO Energy Technology has developed partnerships with other world-class organisations in the field of energy economic modelling to better understand the factors that drive energy consumption globally and the important interdependencies that exist between industry and the energy sector.
